Isolating the exact source of an undesired emission can be the most challenging part of EMI testing. Certain commands sent via the CAN bus can trigger unwanted emissions due to a change in the DUT’s operating conditions. The high-speed R&S RTO with FPGA-supported FFT calculation and bus analysis options is the perfect instrument for this task. The engineer can trigger on specific bus signals or on the violation of a user definable spectrum mask in order to quickly and accurately track down the cause of the unwanted emission.
