The TCU is an embedded central communication hub that wirelessly connects a vehicle with external networks, such as cloud services or V2X communication systems. Integrating multiple wireless standards – including LTE, 5G, NTN and GNSS – it supports essential functions such as emergency call (eCall), advanced driver assistance (ADAS), fleet management, over-the-air software updates and remote diagnostics.

In the lab, TCUs are validated for protocol compliance, connectivity performance, and GNSS accuracy, while automated production tests ensure consistent quality and reliable operation of all mechanical, electrical, and software components with highest throughput.
