Question
After installing the R&S NRP Toolkit and R&S Power Viewer the sensor can still not be found in my NI VISA package.
I can completely control the sensor from R&S Power Viewer, so the connection is fine. What do I do wrong?
R&S NRP-Z Sensor is not available in NI VISA

To control the NRP-Z sensors using the NI VISA package, the following software must be installed:
- R&S NRP Toolkit
- NRP-NI-VISA Passport
Both can be found in the download section of the corresponding sensor on the R&S Homepage.
After the installation is complete reboot your system with the sensor already connected via USB and open NI MAX.
The sensor still won't be available in the device list yet.
Open the VISA interactive Control (Tools / NI-VISA / VISA Interactive Control) and flip open the "Unknown" section.
The sensor will appear, you can directly double click on it to open the device for the first communication test.
It is possible no to copy the Resource String by marking it in the "Resource To Open" field here.
Another window will open, go to the Input/Output Section and try to query "*IDN?" as shown below:
If you get the answer everything is fine.
Use the VISA resource string in your applications now to connect the sensor.
