Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is looking for a Master Data Clerk in our Frederick, Maryland facility. The Master Data Clerk is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of material master data within SAP to support production, inventory management, planning, and customer delivery requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that materials, bills of material (BOMs), and inventory parameters are properly established and maintained to support efficient operations. The position works closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure SAP data supports business objectives and operational excellence. This position requires being on site fulltime (5 days per week).

Your tasks

  • Create and maintain material master records in SAP, ensuring proper setup of material classifications, Warehouse assignments, material types, and other required master data elements
  • Process material master updates using SAP transaction MM02.
  • Maintain and update component lists to ensure accuracy and alignment with current product requirements.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain inventory safety stock levels, making proactive adjustments based on demand and operational needs.
  • Perform POP data entry activities for the VCS program.
  • Transfer and release Bills of Material (BOMs) within SAP to support production requirements.
  • Execute mass material updates and data maintenance activities within SAP.
  • Support inventory planning and material management activities through accurate master data administration.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Production teams to implement material and BOM changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, inventory management, and SAP processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and data governance standards.

Your qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Strong understanding of material master data and inventory management principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, supply chain, inventory control, or master data management.
  • Knowledge of SAP material master functions, BOM management, and inventory planning.
  • Experience with MRP concepts and inventory forecasting.
  • In order to be considered, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident able to obtain an interim or final suitability determination, subject to completion and favorable adjudication of the required background investigation.

The total compensation for this position is $21-$28/hr. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
