The R&S®ZVA can control all Rohde & Schwarz generators as well as all SCPII-compatible generators from other vendors. This makes the R&S®ZVA an ideal choice for characterizing amplifiers and mixers. The second internal source can be used as an LO for fast swept conversion loss measurements on mixers, or to deliver the second tone for fast intermodulation measurements on amplifiers and mixers.Intermodulation
pulsed generators or pulse modulators. The R&S®ZVA-K7 and the R&S®ZVA-B7 options feature identical functionality – the only difference being that the R&S®ZVA-K7 offers a maximum recording time of 3 ms per sweep and the R&S ZVA-B7 of 25 ms per sweep. The R&S®ZVA-K7 can be used with all R&S®ZVA and R&S®ZVT models irrespective of the number of test ports.

has now introduced a software option that adds true differential measurement capability up to 50 GHz to the R&S®ZVA and R&S®ZVT vector network analyzers. This makes it possible for the first time to accurately characterize nonlinear balanced components. This option allows you to accurately control the magnitude and phase of the two sources of a four-port R&S®ZVA directly at the reference plane.
The R&S®ZVA-K5 option makes it possible to characterize all four complex S-parameters of a mixer with LO access, including absolute phase and group delay. This measurement uses full two-port calibration, which yields high measurement accuracy.
Overview Key factsThe R&S®ZVA and the R&S®ZVT have a maximum standard IF bandwidth of 1 MHz. The R&S®ZVA-K17 option extends the IF bandwidth to 5 MHz (10 MHz with restrictions). This method requires a four-port R&S®ZVA with two sources to apply a two-tone signal to the converter. The R&S®ZVA evaluates the group delay by measuring the phase differences between both carriers at the input and the output of the DUT.
