HMC8015 - Exteneded Measurement in Compliance Tests

Question

While testing some devices with IEC 62301 compliance measurements, the HMC8015 sometimes starts the extended measurement which leads to a longer measurement time. Do you have an idea why this happens? Is there a way to stop the extended measurement?

Answer

If the power consumption is not sufficiently stable within the required time, the measurement must be extended according to the standard. Maybe you set the pattern to "variable". In your case "cyclic" or "static" would improve the situation. You can abort the measurement using the "Backwards" key. Please take note, that this will restart the complete measurement.
