LTE, LTE Advanced and LTE Advanced Pro signal generation

The LTE software options generate standard-conformant FDD or TDD signals in line with 3GPP Release 8 to 15 directly on the instrument or on the desktop using R&S®WinIQSIM2TM. The options support all uplink, downlink and sidelink channel bandwidths and physical channels of LTE and NB-IoT, including channel coding and scrambling. An intuitive GUI, context-sensitive help menu, presets for downlink test models, uplink FRCs and a graphical timeplan of the configured signals all contribute to a fast and efficient workflow. Intermediate results of the signal generation chain can be easily logged to help facilitate debugging. Furthermore, a test case wizard ensures easy setup of base station conformance tests in line with 3GPP TS 36.141.

Supports all physical signals and channels

Flexibly configure LTE, NB-IoT and sidelink physical layer

The LTE options implement the physical layer in line with 3GPP Release 8 to 15. The options support all downlink, uplink and sidelink physical channels and all specified channel bandwidths and modulation schemes such as 1024QAM, along with important physical layer features such as channel coding, scrambling, multiplexing of data and control information. This provides standard-conformant signals for testing components, modules, receivers and base stations.

MIMO, carrier aggregation and multiple users

Easily configure up to 8-layer MIMO and aggregate up to 5 carriers

The LTE options provide full MIMO and transmit diversity support with flexible LTE antenna port mapping in line with 3GPP Release 8 to 15. Intra-carrier and inter-carrier aggregation of up to five component carriers can be configured, including mixed TDD/FDD CA in uplink and cross-carrier scheduling. Up to four scheduled users in downlink and up to eight users in uplink can be configured for realistic receiver tests.

Test case wizard for easy setup of BS tests

The test case wizard supports the configuration of test signals in line with 3GPP TS 36.141, required for base station conformance and performance  tests. It offers a selection of predefined settings for wanted and interfering signals based on defined test cases. In addition, presets and predefined settings for downlink test models and uplink fixed reference channels enable easy set up of test signals for testing components and base stations.

Graphical signal evaluation

Graphical signal monitoring of virtually any point 

In addition to a convenient display of the configured resource allocation over time, various graphical displays support fast and easy signal configuration or evaluations to indicate resource allocation conflicts. Graphical signal monitoring is also provided in real time. It can be configured to display power spectrum, I and Q vs. time, vector diagram, CCDF and more.

Tailored for base station tests

Real-time HARQ feedback support

The LTE closed-loop BS test option enables test engineers to generate dynamically changing LTE test signals as required. This allows HARQ feedback and uplink timing adjustment tests in line with LTE base station test specification 3GPP TS 36.141 (Chapter 8). Simulated UEs can respond in real time to HARQ feedback (ACK/NACK) and timing adjustment commands from the base station.

Supports design flow optimization

Log files for design verification and enhanced debugging

Logging points are provided to capture the intermediate results from the signal processing chain, including forward error correction, which can be stored in either bit stream or I/Q sample files. This enables designers to verify their own receiver and transmitter software implementations of the LTE physical layer and to obtain insights to perform enhanced debugging.

Terms & Conditions of the Prize Draw 10 years Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscopes

1. The prize draw “10 years Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscopes” (herein referred to as “Draw”) is organized by Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG, Mühldorfstraße 15, 81671 Munich, Germany, Tel. +49 89 41 29 0 (herein referred to as “R&S).

2. All participators can register to the draw during January 01, 2020 to December 31, 2020 with their name, company name and business e-mail.

3. Participation is free of charge and not dependent on the purchase of goods or services.

4. The draw is only open to legal entities and only the legal entities are able to win the prizes. An individual person is not allowed to participate on its own name and its own account but as a representative of a legal entity filing the participation form in the name of and on behalf of the legal entity.

5. The prizes to win are 1 of 10 R&S®RTB2000 within the time frame January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020:

6. The draw takes place at Rohde & Schwarz headquarters, Muehldorstrasse 15, 81671 Munich. The winner of the prizes will be informed by e-mail within 5 (5) working days.

7. The authorized representative of the legal entity shall inform Rohde & Schwarz about the acceptance of the price. In case of the denial of the acceptance, or no answer within two (2) weeks, a new winner will be drawn. If no winner can be determined within four (4) weeks, the draw ends and the prize forfeit.

8. R&S’ employees and members of their families and also person being familiar with the process of the draw and members of their families are excluded from filling the participation form.

9. No cash equivalent or exchange of prizes is allowed. Prizes are non-transferable. All taxes, levies, duties, fees and other charges levied in the participant´s country shall be borne by the participant.

10. Personal data will be processed only for the purpose of this prize draw and deleted four (4) weeks after the draw, if not agreed otherwise.

11. Any Participant who does not comply with these Terms & Conditions may be disqualified by R&S from this Competition. In such cases, prizes can also be withdrawn retrospectively. In case a prize is withdrawn retrospectively due to the non-compliance with these Terms & Conditions, it shall be returned by the respective participant at his cost to R&S’ address mentioned under Nr.1 and a new winner will be drawn.

12. The participants cannot claim the prizes of this draw and no legal recourse is permitted in this respect.

13. The draw and any contractual relationship arising therefrom between R&S and the respective participant shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without any recourse to the conflict of laws. The courts of Munich, Germany, shall have exclusive jurisdiction in case of any disputes arising directly or indirectly from the participation in this Competition.
