Rohde & Schwarz announces unique 56 GHz and 67 GHz frequency options for R&S SMW200A vector signal generatorRohde & Schwarz has introduced not just one but two new maximum frequencies for the R&S SMW200A vector signal generator, bringing previously impossible high performance to digitally modulated signals up to 67 GHz and beyond. The R&S SMW200A is first to enable flat frequency response and 2 GHz modulation bandwidth above 44 GHz. In addition to all applications already supported up to 44 GHz, the 100 kHz to 56 GHz option covers all currently used 5G frequencies, plus earth-to-satellite applications. The 100 kHz to 67 GHz option also supports planned higher frequency 5G bands, the 60 GHz WiGig band, and inter-satellite links.

Vector signal generator from Rohde & Schwarz achieves extremely high pulse rates in PDW streaming applicationsRohde & Schwarz introduces a new realtime control interface software option for simulated radar scenarios based on pulse descriptor word (PDW) streaming. The radar scenario simulator streams the PDWs to the R&S SMW200A vector signal generator directly via LAN. Equipped with the new software option, the vector signal generator processes these signals to simulate highly agile and dense radar signal environments. The R&S SMW200 acts as an agile signal source that generates the highest pulse rates with superior RF performance. It supports both classical pulsed signals and any I/Q modulated signals. This solution is especially well suited for extremely long-duration tests of radar receivers.

Satellite Show 2018: SatixFy modem demonstration with R&S SMW200A wideband modulator from Rohde & SchwarzSatixFy, a company specializing in developing and selling SDR baseband chips and modems, is introducing its first wideband 500 MHz DVB-S2X Software Defined Radio (SDR) modem. SatixFy is demonstrating operation of its modem based on its SX-3000 chip at Satellite Show 2018, in SatixFy's booth (#649) in Washington, D.C. The product sets a record in terms of throughput, demonstrating 2.4 Gbps in 64 APSK with no time slicing or 256 APSK with 30% time slicing. The new Wideband SDR modem is the only one in the market today supporting Beam Hopping and VLSNR.

Rohde & Schwarz adds 5G New Radio uplink analysis to its R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyzerRohde & Schwarz is introducing a new solution for analyzing 5G NR uplink signals in line with the latest 3GPP specifications. The R&S FSW-K145 5G-NR UL measurement application for the R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyzer is used to develop 5G user equipment and components such as power amplifiers. It complements the existing R&S FSW-K144 5G NR downlink measurement application, which is used to test 5G base stations. The R&S SMW-K144 5G NR option for the R&S SMW200A vector signal generator can generate the required signals for uplink and downlink receiver tests. All three 5G NR signal generation and analysis options now support 15.2.0, the most recent version of the 3GPP standard.
