Brief description

The R&S®SMW-K81 option enhances the R&S®SMW-K55 option (EUTRA/LTE digital standard) by generating logging files that contain intermediate results from the signal processing chain including forward error correction (FEC).

Brief description

The R&S®SMW-K81 option enhances the R&S®SMW-K55 option (EUTRA/LTE digital standard) by generating logging files that contain intermediate results from the signal processing chain including forward error correction (FEC). The intermediate results are stored in files either in bit stream or I/Q sample format, depending on the type of logging point. Furthermore, summary log files can be generated containing additional information about the generated signal (e.g. detailed DCI mapping information).

The R&S®SMW-K81 option allows design flow optimization by using generated LTE log files. The generated log files and intermediate results of the signal processing chain enable users to verify their own RX as well as TX software implementations of the LTE physical layer (used e.g. in LTE devices or base stations).

Verification of RX implementation:

The coded bit stream obtained from the signal generator (via R&S®SMW-K81) can be loaded into the RX software module that needs to be verified. In case of mismatch, intermediate results can be used for enhanced debugging.

Verification of TX Implementation (R&S®SMW-K81 as reference)

The coded bit stream obtained from the signal generator (via R&S®SMW-K81) can be compared with the bit stream from TX software module under test. In case of mismatch, intermediate results can be used for enhanced debugging
