For stationary or shipboard applications

R&S®HX002H3/H3M HF dipoles with ATUs enable optimum coverage of all distance ranges. They are particularly useful for short and medium distance radiocommunications, since skip zones prevent rod antennas from providing sufficient transmission reliability at distances of less than 1000 km. The fully automated ATU provides perfect matching to the transmitting system and enables use of its full RF output power capabilities. Together with the R&S®GX002, it seamlessly integrates into the R&S®Series 4100 and M3TR radio systems. A third-party system controller can run the antenna via Ethernet or it can be fully automated with minimal third-party transceiver interfaces.

High RF power in a small antenna

The R&S®HK002H3 features relatively small, 5 m long dipole based radiators. R&S®HK002H3M dipoles are even shorter (just 2.5 m) to accommodate the limited space onboard ships. The integrated, fully automatic antenna tuning unit perfectly matches the radiators to the transmitting system, enabling full RF output power capabilities of up to 150 W.

High efficiency

The R&S®HX002H3/H3M only uses low-loss capacitors and air-core coils for matching and requires no attenuating measures such as resistor-damped structures. This is more efficient and sends more power into the airwaves.

HF-cable-only interface

The R&S®HX002H3 as well as the R&S®HX002H3M feature a single cable interface. Just one cable carries all the signals (RF, power supply and control), making installation and system integration both easier and more reliable.

Compatibility with a wide variety of transceivers

The R&S®GX002 junction unit fully controls and powers the R&S®HX002H3/H3M. The junction unit handles all communications to and from the transceiver. Universal interfaces such as LAN, coaxial and optical ports allow the junction unit to work with the latest shortwave transceivers, older Rohde & Schwarz transceivers in legacy applications and transceivers from other manufacturers.

Fully automatic operation in autonomous mode

The combination of the R&S®GX002 junction unit and the R&S®HX002H0 enables operations in "autonomous mode". This requires very few control signals and allows third-party transceivers to operate without adjusting the control protocol.
