Use Case #5: Sivers Semiconductors and Rohde & Schwarz collaborate on testing WLAN 11ad and 5G RF transceivers up to 71 GHz

To overcome the challenges of OTA testing related to the extended mmWave frequency ranges and to evaluate the performance of the latest generation of RF transceiver chipsets, Rohde & Schwarz and Sivers Semiconductors jointly tested RF transceivers for WLAN and 5G NR up to 71 GHz.

To validate the transmitter performance, the R&S®SMW200A provided a differential analog IQ baseband signal to the DUT. For receiver tests at 64 GHz, the R&S®SMW200A with its new 67 GHz frequency option was used to generate the required high-quality 5G NR Release 17 signals.
