Rohde & Schwarz North America's Graduate Development Program

Graduate Development

What is the Graduate Development Program (GDP)?

The GDP is a fulltime paid position designed to train the next generation of engineering talent to become Sales Engineers and Application Engineers, in the test and measurement industry! At the end of the program, you will transition to a Sales Engineering or Application Engineering role in the location and team you were hired for upfront.

During the year in the GDP, you will be part of a close knit cohort of other recent graduates all with the goal of developing technical product knowledge and honing your soft skills. This cohort will train together and travel monthly to meet up in person for events and hands on experience with our instruments. While you’re not training you will be making a real impact by contributing to sales and technical projects that support a wide range of teams at Rohde & Schwarz. These projects change year to year based on what is happening in our industry but examples of successful projects from years past include:

  • Customer outreach regarding new product launches
  • Supporting testing automation for existing customers
  • Creating videos and content around Rohde & Schwarz offerings for internal and external use
  • Improvements to internal business tools

One key aspect of the GDP is getting involved in your local region by shadowing real customer engagements, attending industry tradeshows, and supporting Rohde & Schwarz led seminars and training events for our customers. Being active at customer sites and shadowing the local team happens throughout the entire year!
