The portfolio of high-efficiency transmitters featuring ATSC 3.0 capabilities and an enhanced monitoring service will be showcased at NAB 2026, addressing critical requirements for infrastructure stability and long-term cost management.

Rohde & Schwarz will be at NAB 2026

Munich, 18.03.2026 — Rohde & Schwarz will showcase its terrestrial transmission portfolio at the NAB Show 2026, emphasizing operational efficiency and native ATSC 3.0 support. The company will introduce R&S®BroadcastShield, a proactive service providing a secure link between transmitters and Rohde & Schwarz service engineers to diagnose and resolve technical issues, often before they occur. Finally, Rohde & Schwarz will continue its popular series of R&S®Tech Talks that will offer insights into the latest industry trends.

A key focus at NAB 2026 will be the potential of ATSC 3.0 and DTV+. These solutions are designed to unlock enhanced viewer experiences, including stunning 4K pictures and immersive media, and enable new applications including Broadcast Positioning System (BPS) which provides a GNSS-independent positioning solution. Broadcasters can also explore new revenue streams through datacasting opportunities and enhanced public safety with resilient emergency alerts. Rohde & Schwarz is actively supporting ATSC 3.0 adoption with future-proof transmitters, software-defined exciters and MIMO support for increased capacity and coverage. In Brazil, Rohde & Schwarz is playing a key role in the national DTV+ rollout, working closely with broadcasters and industry partners to validate transmission technologies, support field trials, and accelerate the transition to next-generation terrestrial television.

“In today’s broadcast environment, proactive maintenance and rapid response are essential for maintaining continuous operation,” says Erik Balladares, Vice President of North American Broadcast Sales at Rohde & Schwarz. “R&S®BroadcastShield isn’t just about quickly fixing problems; it’s about preventing issues and ensuring our customers can focus on delivering content, knowing their infrastructure is supported by our transmitter experts.”

Rohde & Schwarz will also host the established Tech Talks at NAB 2026, featuring updates on ATSC 3.0/DTV+ deployments in the USA and Brazil, as well as expert discussions on industry challenges and opportunities.
