We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Senior Strategic Planning Engineer for Vector Network Analyzer Applications. As a Strategic Planning Engineer, you will support new software and hardware development projects for Vector Network Analyzer measurement applications addressing the wireless communications, semiconductor test and aerospace and defense markets. The Senior Strategic Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing high-level measurement concepts, requirements and product definitions in collaboration with R/D engineers. This role will primarily focus on new VNA measurement equipment for the diverse test and measurement markets. This position will also work closely with strategic market leading customers to validate early development concepts and prototypes from both a technical and market applicability perspective. The candidate will join a global team of experienced hardware and software engineers focusing on the development of a portfolio of VNA measurement solutions.

Your tasks

Create market analysis material that considers both customer needs and the competitive environment.
Provide technical oversite in developing software measurement concepts and the technical definition across the entire VNA portfolio in close collaboration with the R&D teams & product managers.
Establish strategic customer relations for proofing the customer acceptance in the wireless, semiconductor, and aerospace and defense test markets.
Strategize and execute market introductions in close collaboration with the product management team.
Capture management of prioritized customer use cases and system level measurement requirements.
Presenting and demonstrating technical measurement solutions to train our internal applications engineers and customers.
The ability to lead a cross-functional division, marketing and field teams to optimize business growth worldwide with new product introductions.
Lead the measurement applications testing internally and support customer engagements of prerelease alpha and beta instrumentation at the customer site.

Your qualifications

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
A minimum of 5 years in RF/Microwave hardware or software design, development and test experience.
Practical VNA measurement experience.
Proven RF measurement science knowledge such as s-parameters, noise figure, spurious, TOI, AM-AM, AM-PM, group delay, pulsed envelope analysis, on wafer, antenna test, and signal integrity.
Define and verify the user interface and operating concepts for the VNA measurement applications.
The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Flexibility and willingness to travel to Munich Germany or Hillsboro Oregon to work with engineering and product management teams located around the world. Ability to travel regularly ~ 30% of the time to both European and U.S. locations.
Strong effective communicator in English both in verbal and written form.
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers in a multinational environment.
Experience in publishing and delivery technical symposium papers and video content.
Experienced in customer facing and sales situations to present alternate solutions and carefully manage customer expectations.

The total compensation for this position is $155K-210K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
