How to get Wireshark log files for IMS (VoLTE, VoWiFi) when using CMW500/CMW290

Question

Wireshark files are very helpfull in case failures occures during IMS based services like VoLTE or VoWLAN.

So what is the quickest way to generate Wireshark logs with a CMW500/CMW290?

Answer

1. Start the LTE cell - but please leave the DUT switched off.

2. Start the IMS Server in the Data Application Measruments user interface.

3. In the DAU measurements, select the "IP Logging" tab -> select "LTE Signaling" and start "IP Logging"

4. Now switch on the DUT and let it attach into the LTE test cell.

5. Perform the VoLTE or VoWiFi test scenario that needs to be analyzed.

5. Stop "IP Logging" after test scenario is finished -> this creates a .pcap file which is stored in Z:\ip_logging.
