The emission measurement is executed as an R&S®EMC32-K10 EMI Auto Test sequence where the following sequence steps are executed:

  • Preview measurement as scan using the appropriate detector and receiver settings.
  • The first harmonics frequency is determined either automatically from the maximum peak value of the preview measurement or is entered by the operator.
  • The limit lines which fulfill the following requirement is automatically generated. The second and third harmonics shall be suppressed 50 + 10 log p (where p = peak power output in watts) at the fundamental) or 80 dB, whichever requires less suppression. All other emissions shall be at least 80 dB down from the level at the fundamental.
  • Data Reduction: a data reduction of the preview measurement results is executed in order to mark the critical frequencies in the graphics and to generate a final result table containing these frequencies. In this case of RE103 the calculation of the ERP (Emitted Radiated Power) for fundamental and all spurious and harmonics is performed.
