Beamforming antennas typically use a phased array design. In contrast to conventional antennas, beamforming antennas consist of a high number of individually radiating elements. In the beamforming process, the signals produced by these elements are preconditioned to form the beam and define the direction of the main lobe. Various techniques are used to accomplish this, and Rohde & Schwarz offers dedicated testing solutions for all them to ensure high performance.
