A convenient test environment

The compact, fully shielded R&S®ATS1800C has a footprint of only 1.3 m2 and a large 30 cm quiet zone. Wheels make the R&S®ATS1800C easy to transport and its compact size can fit through most doors in R&D labs and test houses. It can quickly and accurately test a wide range of 5G DUTs such as modules, smartphones and even laptops and small cells.

State-of-the-art CATR reflector

Accurate IFF measurements with high-quality CATR reflector

The R&S®ATS1800C has a bidirectional parabolic reflector that collimates beams from the feed antenna or DUT. The reflector is specially designed and manufactured by Rohde & Schwarz in Germany to achieve unrivaled performance in a small test chamber. The rolled edges of the reflector are modelled to minimize scattering while the surface is precisely polished, which is critical when operating at high frequencies.

3D positioner with hardware triggering

Smooth movements facilitate fast and accurate measurements

With best in class angular resolution and accuracy, the positioner supports heavy DUTs e.g. to help carry out CTIA FR2 antenna performance tests that use phantom heads and hands. The build-in hardware trigger functionality supports fast measurements and therefore shorter test times. The test time for a full TRP measurement, for example, can be reduced by a factor of 5 to 10 (depending on the number of frequencies and angular step size) compared to conventional measurement methods.

Convenient and fast out-of-band (OOB) testing

Automatic feed switcher to cover a wide frequency range

Out-of-band emissions require measurements outside typical band limits in lower and higher frequency ranges. For seamless measurements, the R&S®ATS1800C can be equipped with an automatic feed switcher for up to four different selectable feed antennas on motorized movers. Single fixed feeds are also available for measurements in frequency ranges other than the major 5G FR2 frequency bands.

Enclosure for extreme temperature tests

Retrofittable temperature test capability

An optional RF transparent yet isolating temperature enclosure makes it possible to heat up or cool down the DUT in a temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and still perform uncompromised RF radiation measurements. The enclosure can be placed on the 3D positioner without limiting its movements. Equipped with this enclosure, the R&S®ATS1800C fully supports 3D radiation measurements under extreme temperature conditions.

IFF testing with multiple AoA

Unique solution with four high-end reflectors for RRM testing and beyond

The DUT needs to receive 5G NR signals from different angles for radio resource management (RRM) testing. At least four different signal directions are required in different combinations for the specified five relative angles between the signals. The unique side chamber extension of the R&S®ATS1800C provides this functionality, creating a 30cm quiet zone for signals from each direction and ensuring the lowest measurement uncertainty even in these complex test scenarios.

Check what is happening inside the chamber during testing

Camera option with additional smart features

Since the R&S®ATS1800C is fully sealed during testing it is hard to see the device or check what is happening inside the chamber. With the camera option you can monitor the DUT at all times. Heat dissipation on 5G mobile devices is a potential issue so the camera can easily switch to infrared vision for checking the DUT heatmap while testing.

Highly capable and flexible test chamber

Designing a module in the lab? Running conformance test cases together with the R&S®TS8980 in a test house? Applications and requirements differ but all these jobs can be done using a single test chamber. The 3GPP 5G NR compliant R&S®ATS1800C helps optimize the overall performance of RF modules, including beam characterization measurements.

Terms & Conditions of the Prize Draw 10 years Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscopes

1. The prize draw “10 years Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscopes” (herein referred to as “Draw”) is organized by Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG, Mühldorfstraße 15, 81671 Munich, Germany, Tel. +49 89 41 29 0 (herein referred to as “R&S).

2. All participators can register to the draw during January 01, 2020 to December 31, 2020 with their name, company name and business e-mail.

3. Participation is free of charge and not dependent on the purchase of goods or services.

4. The draw is only open to legal entities and only the legal entities are able to win the prizes. An individual person is not allowed to participate on its own name and its own account but as a representative of a legal entity filing the participation form in the name of and on behalf of the legal entity.

5. The prizes to win are 1 of 10 R&S®RTB2000 within the time frame January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020:

6. The draw takes place at Rohde & Schwarz headquarters, Muehldorstrasse 15, 81671 Munich. The winner of the prizes will be informed by e-mail within 5 (5) working days.

7. The authorized representative of the legal entity shall inform Rohde & Schwarz about the acceptance of the price. In case of the denial of the acceptance, or no answer within two (2) weeks, a new winner will be drawn. If no winner can be determined within four (4) weeks, the draw ends and the prize forfeit.

8. R&S’ employees and members of their families and also person being familiar with the process of the draw and members of their families are excluded from filling the participation form.

9. No cash equivalent or exchange of prizes is allowed. Prizes are non-transferable. All taxes, levies, duties, fees and other charges levied in the participant´s country shall be borne by the participant.

10. Personal data will be processed only for the purpose of this prize draw and deleted four (4) weeks after the draw, if not agreed otherwise.

11. Any Participant who does not comply with these Terms & Conditions may be disqualified by R&S from this Competition. In such cases, prizes can also be withdrawn retrospectively. In case a prize is withdrawn retrospectively due to the non-compliance with these Terms & Conditions, it shall be returned by the respective participant at his cost to R&S’ address mentioned under Nr.1 and a new winner will be drawn.

12. The participants cannot claim the prizes of this draw and no legal recourse is permitted in this respect.

13. The draw and any contractual relationship arising therefrom between R&S and the respective participant shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without any recourse to the conflict of laws. The courts of Munich, Germany, shall have exclusive jurisdiction in case of any disputes arising directly or indirectly from the participation in this Competition.
