The tracking generator leakage is measured by connecting a 50 Ohm terminator onto RF input and TG output connectors with a typical value of −110 dBm
Procedure:
1. Connect the instruments as shown below:
2. Preset this instrument.
Operation: SHIFT, SYSTEM(PRESET)
3. Set the stop frequency to 3 GHz.
Operation: FREQUENCY, Center, 3, GHz
4. Set the attenuator to manual.
Operation: AMPLITUDE, ATT, ATT MNL
5. Set the min attenuator to 0 dB.
Operation: Min ATT, 0, GHz
6. Set the attenuator to 0 dB.
Operation: ATT, 0, GHz
7. Set TG On.
Operation: TG, TG(On)
8. Set TG Level to 0 dBm.
Operation: TG, TG Level, 0, dBm
9. Set RBW to 30 kHz.
Operation: CPL, RBW MNL, 3, 0, kHz
10. Get worst value (peak search).
