Quality Management : Summer Intern- Quality/Metrology, Columbia, MD

Your tasks

• Design and build a web-based dashboard (frontend + backend) to display calibration and metrology metrics with real-time or scheduled updates.
• Implement data pipelines and automated analyses to support calibration-interval adjustment recommendations and produce monthly reports.
• Create an easy-to-use mechanism (dashboard pages, alerts, or documentation portal) for Satellite Labs to view metrology requirements and status.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, estimate work, and iterate on functionality; demonstrate progress in regular check-ins.
• Produce unit/integration tests, deployment scripts, documentation, and a hand-off package so the tool is maintainable and reproducible.
• Provide training and onboarding materials for users and support initial adoption.

Your qualifications

• Rising Jr or Sr currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science / Software Engineering, Data Science / Statistics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (instrumentation/metrology focus), or Industrial / Quality Engineering.
• Programming experience in Python and/or JavaScript.
• Experience with data analysis and basic statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing, time-series basics).
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
• Comfortable with version control (Git) and writing clear documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Familiarity with automated reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI) or report generation in Python/R.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Summer resident of the greater Columbia, MD area. We are unable to provide housing or relocation for summer interns
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
