HD Radio is a trademark used by AM and FM radio stations to transmit audio and data by using a digital signal embedded “on-frequency” immediately above and below a station's standard analog signal. HD Radio stations broadcast a digital signal in either HD or as a standard broadcast allowing for up to three additional stations of new local content.
Our partner: SES Platform Services GmbH
SES Platform Services GmbH is a subsidiary of SES and operates one of Europe’s most modern broadcasting centres. It provides a wide range of services for the preparation and transmission of content for TV and radio channels, including content management, playout encryption, multiplexing and satellite uplinks. SES Platform Services also offers technical support for broadcasters and production companies.
SES Platform Services provides test suites in a defined environment for testing compliance and self-certification which are integrated into R&S BTC broadcast test center:
- single measuring instrument to test the compliance of products with HD+ specifications
- new and comprehensive solution for development and certification
- all functions of HD+ specifications covered
- performance of tests regardless of location and without the availability of the satellite signal
- available for HD+ receivers, HD+ SmartTV receivers and for the HD+ module
Our partner: DTG Testing
DTG Testing is a not-for-profit subsidiary of the Digital TV Group, reinvesting all surplus in providing world-leading test and conformance services. Its test suites demonstrate conformance to the requirements of the Freeview, Freeview HD, Freeview New Zealand and Freesat trade marks and the 'digital tick' certification mark.
In cooperation between Rohde & Schwarz and DGT Testing, the R&S BTC broadcast test center has successfully integrated the D-Book test suite:
- disturbance-free TV reception
- usual time-consuming and expensive DTG D-Book test setups no longer necessary
- enables manufactures to minimize test times and the cost of compliance testing
