How to export Touchstone s2p files?

Question

Can the four-port network analyzer export Touchstone s2p files?

Answer

Yes, you have two options for creating an s2p file with the network analyzer - regardless of the type of analyzer

you use (two-, three- or four-port).

a)

- Preset

- Make a full two-port calibration

- Select TRACE - TRACE FUNCTION - TRACE DATA - EXPORT COMPLEX DATA

- Select 'Select Ports ...' in the window and then select the two calibrated ports

- The network analyzer now saves the data as an s2p file

b)

- Preset

- Create four traces and choose S11, S21, S12 and S22 (in this example, we use ports 1 and 2)

- Select TRACE - TRACE FUNCTION - TRACE DATA - EXPORT COMPLEX DATA

- Select 'Select Ports ...' in the window and then select ports 1 and 2

- The network analyzer now saves the data as an s2p file
