Helsinki may 13, 2026
Helsinki, May 13, 2026 – As the electromagnetic spectrum is a decisive factor for mission effectiveness, Rohde & Schwarz, together with its subsidiary Schönhofer Sales and Engineering GmbH, will present a complete SIGINT/EW portfolio designed to support armed forces and intelligence organizations detect, understand and control spectrum activity in highly dynamic scenarios, at AOC Europe 2026, taking place from 19 to 21 May in Helsinki, Finland.
From swarms of uncrewed systems and contested navigation data to ever‑more networked electromagnetic warfare (EW) environments, today’s forces and organizations need resilient communications, reliable situational awareness and instant, data‑driven decision‑making. To operate successfully, they need realistic tools for mission rehearsal, real‑time situational awareness that captures every emission and turns it into actionable intelligence, and battle‑proven EW capabilities that can deny, disrupt or protect the spectrum.
Rohde & Schwarz delivers all of these capabilities from a single one‑stop‑shop, covering everything from signal generation and testing, through detection, localization and classification, and disruption, to AI‑enhanced data fusion and secure communications.
The company’s partnership with Ukrainian defense technology company Infozahyst combines EW expertise with operationally tested systems and signal libraries, enabling the rapid development of intelligent jamming solutions that are already in service and draw interest from European NATO partners. The joint effort has also produced a highly mobile Counter-UAS system and an armored and mobile platform, each designed for frontline survivability, multi‑target engagement and advanced jamming reach. The collaboration illustrates how integrated R&D, shared manufacturing resources and transparent auditing can turn an urgent operational necessity into a credible, market‑ready defense solution that not only strengthens combat effectiveness but also directly contributes to saving lives on the battlefield.
Rohde & Schwarz will also present its test and measurement equipment, highlighting sophisticated radar signal simulation solutions. The R&S Pulse Sequencer, a powerful radar simulation program, combined with a Rohde & Schwarz vector signal generator, gives engineers and technicians a solid tool for testing EW and radar receivers. Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions deliver short lead times, scalable architectures for complex, realistic scenarios, and an ITAR-free path that reduces program risk and accelerates readiness.
In today’s EW environment, deceptive jammers that use digital RF memory (DRFM) technology are a key element of electronic counter measure (ECM) systems. As radars grow more advanced, assessing DRFM performance, especially timing, coherence and spectral integrity, demands exceptional precision. At the AOC, visitors can watch the multi-channel FSWX in operation as it measures both the input and the output of a simulated DRFM jammer, delivering a complete evaluation of its performance and effectiveness. The FSWX also supports advanced measurement tasks such as pulse and transient analysis, providing deeper insight into radar and EW system behavior.
A highlight of the event will be an expert spotlight session on “Drone platforms for ISR: Use cases, challenges, and solutions for signal hunters.” The session, led by Dr. Corbett Rowell, Senior R&D Director at Rohde & Schwarz, will take place on May 21 from 13:30 to 15:00.
