The NRT-Z sensor connects externally to the R&S®CMA180 via the NRT-Z5 adapter and USB cable. Measurements are started by selecting the TX or Expert scenario under the analog tab, then accessing the Sensor tab. Before measuring, zero the sensor and specify the signal frequency and any external attenuation if needed. The R&S®CMA180 then measures forward and reverse power simultaneously. Derived values include peak envelope power, crest factor, CDF, return loss and standing wave ratio. Additional settings such as measurement repetition, resolution and bandwidth can be configured, along with limits for forward and reverse power. Results are available both as real-time readings and as statistical values: minimum, maximum and average.
