Testing ILS with R&S®CMA180

ILS signal generation covers localizer and glide slope signals. Each is configured under its own tab in Avionics mode, with only one active at a time. Frequency and level are set for the RF path. Frequency pairing syncs the two signal types automatically. The key parameter for both is DDM, the difference in depth of modulation between two lobes. It defines position relative to the center line or glide path. Fly mode shows the corresponding left/right or up/down guidance based on the current DDM value. An ID signal can also be configured. The info pane visualizes DDM and fly mode graphically.
