Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting fleet accounting, inventory management accounting, and general ledger functions across the organization. The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of accounting experience, a strong command of Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with SAP financial systems. Your tasks

  • Fleet Accounting:
  • Record, track, and reconcile fleet asset acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
  • Process and audit fuel, maintenance, and fleet-related vendor invoices
  • Maintain accurate vehicle cost records and support lease vs. buy analyses
  • Coordinate with fleet operations to ensure timely and accurate expense reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of fleet budget variance reports and forecasting schedules Inventory Accounting :
  • Perform month-end inventory reconciliations between the ERP system and warehouse records
  • Investigate and resolve inventory count discrepancies in collaboration with operations
  • Record inventory adjustments, write-downs, and transfers in accordance with GAAP
  • Support cycle count programs and annual physical inventory processes
  • Analyze inventory turnover, carrying costs, and obsolescence reserves General Accounting:
  • Prepare and post journal entries for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and resolve variances on a timely basis
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable regulatory standards
  • Administer the corporate credit card and Concur expense reporting programs, ensuring policy compliance

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; major in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data modeling
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and standard accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with SAP FI (Financial Accounting), CO (Controlling), and/or MM (Materials Management) modules
  • Prior exposure to fleet accounting, fixed assets, or inventory management in a corporate setting
  • CPA candidate or actively pursuing CPA licensure is a plus
  • Experience with Power Query, Power BI, or other data visualization tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally

The total compensation for this position is $76K-$102K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
