Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is seeking an experienced Maritime & Space Business Development Manager to expand our rapidly growing EW/SIGINT and Secure Communications business across U.S. Government agencies, including DoW, I/C, COCOM’s, FFRDC’s, Prime Contractors, and Strategic Partners. This position can be established anywhere within the United States but with preference to candidates that have close proximity to the D.C. Metro Area, or major cities in Southern California, Florida, and Texas. This individual will work as part of an integrated team focused on identifying and expanding Rohde & Schwarz’s strategic opportunity base in the Maritime & Space Domains. Candidates will have an established network and demonstrate their direct knowledge and success within these domains. Candidates will have the ability to comfortably navigate the US Government acquisition process. Prior military experience within communications, EW & SIGINT communities is heavily weighted. Candidates will have a proven track record of achieving business/growth targets and strategic visions with a strong personal drive to contribute directly to R&S’s Defense, Security & Critical Infrastructure division's evolution. #LI-remote

Your tasks

  • Develop a clear and executable national strategy to directly engage the Maritime & Space Domains to identify and develop high PWIN business that releases the value of Rohde & Schwarz’ EW/SIGINT & Secure Communications Solutions.
  • Ability to assimilate and articulate R&S’ vast EW/SIGINT and Secure Communications technologies, including its solutions in COMINT/CESM/CECM, ELINT/RESM, Satellite Monitoring, Counter-UAS, Mobile Radio Analytics, and Tactical, Airborne, and Naval Communications.
  • Continually manage activity funnel and sales forecasting via R&S’ CRM tools.
  • Influence and directly contribute to business capture efforts leveraging market domain expertise and aligning/positioning R&S’ value (direct and/or indirect channels) to develop and execute a winning strategy that increases PWIN.
  • Contribute to and/or author marketing materials, customer RFI responses, proposals and quotes.
  • Directly initiate, plan, and participate in customer demonstrations and trials.
  • Directly participate in targeted industry events, including tradeshows/conferences.
  • Establish effective working relationships within the Defense, Security & Critical Infrastructure sales, engineering, and programs teams within Rohde & Schwarz.

Your qualifications

  • BS or MS in relevant technical area (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics) and/or 5+ years of hands-on mission execution in either Spectrum Management, EW or Intel business field.
  • 5+ years of direct government sales experience.
  • Experience managing government acquisition processes, regulations, program requirements.
  • Existing network of relationships within US government and related contractors.
  • Technical and/or program management experience with spectrum monitoring and electronic warfare systems (maritime/space), including operational knowledge and ability to demonstrate benefits of R&S systems solutions.
  • Strong business development and marketing skills with the ability to manage multiple sales projects.
  • Strong presentation skills in a face-to-face customer environment.
  • Ability to analyze customer requirements and position R&S solutions that meet those requirements, emphasizing the value of our solutions.
  • Ability to add value to the team as both leader and contributor.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
  • Exceptional communications skills in person, over the phone and in writing.
  • In order to be considered, candidates must reside in the US, and be a U.S. person capable of receiving a U.S. security clearance.

The total compensation for this position is $153k-$205K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
