Key facts

  • Extremely wide frequency range
  • Rotation-symmetrical radiation patterns
  • High gain due to V-shaped configuration of antenna elements
  • No reduction in S/N due to the use of a low-noise amplifier
  • Usable as a feed for R&S®AC008 microwave directional antenna

Log-periodic directional antenna with broadband preamplifier

The R&S®HL050S7 log-periodic directional antenna consists of the R&S®HL050 log-periodic antenna with preamplifier and is suitable for receiving linearly polarized waves in the frequency range from 850 MHz to 26.5 GHz. The extremely broadband and low-noise integrated preamplifier prevents a significant reduction in the S/N ratio from loss in RF cables connecting the antenna to a receiver. The nearly rotation-symmetrical radiation pattern of the R&S®HL050S7 offers optimum secondary radiation characteristics for use as a feed in reflector antennas. It is an ideal feed for R&S®AC008 microwave directional antennas.

Features & benefits

Extremely wide frequency range

Only one antenna needed for entire frequeny range

The antenna covers the extremely wide frequency range from 850 MHz to 26.5 GHz, making it ideal for radiomonitoring and measurement tasks.

High antenna gain

For measurement of weak signals

The sophisticated antenna design with its V-shaped configuration of the antenna elements provides high and constant gain over the entire frequency range, enabling the measurement of weak signals.

Rotation-symmetrical radiation patterns

For optimum secondary radiation characteristics

The antenna design generates optimized radiation patterns which are nearly rotation-symmetrical. This offers optimum secondary radiation characteristics for use of the R&S®HL050S7 as a feed in reflector antennas.

No reduction of S/N because of low-noise amplifier

For good signal quality

The extremely broadband and low-noise integrated preamplifier prevents significant reductions in the S/N ratio due to loss in RF cables connecting the antenna to a receiver.
