Product Application Engineer - Columbia, MD

Your tasks

• Understand customer application requirements and map them to Rohde & Schwarz solution.
• Demonstrate product capability relevant to customer needs.
• Identify and recommend white papers, application notes, or other applicable content to customers.
• Refer opportunities to sales per company processes.
• Perform product/application remote demonstrations.
• Provide basic hardware/software test engineering support to meet customer challenges.
• Compose written instructions on technical topics, solutions, and applications stemming from common support incidents.
• Document and report unexpected behavior (bug) to product management and product development.

Your qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position / relevant field
• Knowledge of Digital measurements and applications utilizing Oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) applications and testing utilizing Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Vector Network Analyzer, Power Meters, etc.
• Knowledge of wireless standards (LTE, WLAN, WCDMA, BT etc.)
• Knowledge of programming languages, e.g. Python, C++, LabView, etc.
• Ability to utilize root cause analysis within complex systems comprised of numerous hardware and software components
• Ability and desire to acquire, retain and share technical knowledge
• Ability to read and understand test automation code.
• Adept at operating in a complex, technical, fast-paced environment.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 20%, including occasional trips to our Munich headquarters.

The total compensation for this position is $76K-$92K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
