Taking accurate power readings with an R&S®NRP sensor

An R&S®NRP series external power sensor connects via the dedicated six pin sensor connector or any USB port with an adapter cable. Testing starts with selecting the TX or Expert scenario under the analog tab, then accessing the sensor tab. Before measuring, zero the sensor. The frequency of the signal can be specified for improved accuracy. External attenuation can also be entered to account for cables or attenuators. Results are shown as a current measurement, alongside statistical values for average, minimum and maximum power. Additional settings such as measurement repetition and aperture time can be configured to adjust noise and averaging behavior.
