With new 13 GHz and 16 GHz models, the R&S RTP high-performance oscilloscope family, the most compact multi-purpose lab instrument available, is now scalable from the 4 GHz minimum up to the full 16 GHz bandwidth. Additional new highlights are powerful debugging functions such as the high-speed serial pattern trigger using hardware-based clock-data-recovery (CDR) up to 16 Gbps, or the DDR4 signal integrity and compliance test. The R&S RTP oscilloscope now also provides time domain reflection (TDR) and transmission (TDT) analysis to characterize and debug signal paths.

Advantest Corp. with headquarters in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan, has selected the R&S RTP high-performance oscilloscope for mass production evaluation of high speed SoC testers. The R&S RTP is part of Advantest's continuous efforts to improve quality and was a key factor in updating the company’s verification environment to meet latest requirements. The decision for Rohde & Schwarz indicates that the long-term relationship between Advantest and Rohde & Schwarz will continue.

A new option for the R&S RTO and R&S RTP oscilloscopes helps development engineers gain more insight into the individual jitter components of their transmission interface. Now they can separate jitter into its random and deterministic components and view results flexibly for effective debugging. The Rohde & Schwarz decomposition algorithm uses a parametric signal model for accurate measurements and additional result representations.
