Rohde & Schwarz introduces at European Microwave Week 2017 in Nuremberg a new family of compact, portable and versatile instruments for research, service and production comprising the R&S ZNL network analyzer and R&S FPL1000 spectrum analyzer. The versatile measurement capabilities of the new instruments make them a safe investment, starting with a pure spectrum analyzer (R&S FPL1000) or a standalone network analyzer, which can be turned into a 3-in-1 allrounder by adding the integrated spectrum analysis option and power sensors (R&S ZNL).

The R&S NRQ6 combines the accuracy of a power meter with the dynamic range of a spectrum analyzer. It is the only power sensor on the market to perform extremely precise and fast measurements down to –130 dBm. These features, which are enhanced by the sensor’s excellent linearity, make it possible to calibrate transmitter output power with a single device.

5G is becoming a reality. Rohde & Schwarz will present its test solutions for 5G base stations and the associated massive MIMO antenna arrays and amplifiers at Mobile World Congress 2019. Highlights include signal analysis and signal generation solutions for 5G base station tests in the millimeterwave range and an innovative OTA test solution. It is the first solution worldwide that allows the far-field properties of 5G antenna arrays to be characterized at short distances. A cloud based test solution for automated 5G production tests will also be on display.

With new 13 GHz and 16 GHz models, the R&S RTP high-performance oscilloscope family, the most compact multi-purpose lab instrument available, is now scalable from the 4 GHz minimum up to the full 16 GHz bandwidth. Additional new highlights are powerful debugging functions such as the high-speed serial pattern trigger using hardware-based clock-data-recovery (CDR) up to 16 Gbps, or the DDR4 signal integrity and compliance test. The R&S RTP oscilloscope now also provides time domain reflection (TDR) and transmission (TDT) analysis to characterize and debug signal paths.

At the recent i14y Lab Summit 2022 in Berlin, Rohde & Schwarz has showcased as one of the lab’s partners its proven and powerful measurement instruments used to verify the conformance of O-RAN Radio Units and the end-to-end network performance. At the recent i14y Lab Open RAN services and platforms PlugFest, which was part of the O-RAN ALLIANCE Global PlugFest Fall 2022, Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI Solutions have combined their industry-leading capabilities to deliver an integrated solution for conformance testing of O-RAN Radio Units (O-RUs). This year, the exhibition at European Microwave Week (EuMW) will be held from October 10 to 12, 2017, in Nuremberg, Germany. There, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase test solutions for RF & microwave components, radar, 5G communication and satellite payload at the main booth 108 in hall 7A. As 5G networks are being rolled out globally, the evolution of the 5G NR standard continues. With Release 17, 3GPP will extend the frequency support of 5G NR mmWave bands into the unlicensed spectrum up to 71 GHz, a frequency band traditionally used by non-cellular standards like IEEE 802.11ad and 11ay. To address new testing challenges related to this bandwidth extension and to evaluate the performance of the latest generation RF transceiver chipsets, Rohde & Schwarz and Sivers Semiconductors teamed up to test RF transceivers for 5G NR up to 71 GHz.
