The French regulatory authority, "l'agence nationale des fréquences" (ANFR), has chosen Rohde & Schwarz’ cutting-edge R&S ESMW ultra wideband monitoring receivers with R&S ADD597 direction finding antennas to ensure seamless radio communications during one of the greatest sports events in Paris in 2024.
At major sporting events, reliable radio communications are crucial for organizers, media, and security personnel. The availability of the radio spectrum is paramount, as any interference can result in significant consequences. Interfered broadcasts can lead to a loss of advertising revenue for operators, while blocked emergency channels can have catastrophic implications.
Recognizing the importance of a robust and efficient radio monitoring system, the ANFR, a long-standing customer of Rohde & Schwarz, has already acquired numerous monitoring systems and dozens of R&S PR200 and other equipment from the company. To further enhance their capabilities for the upcoming event, the ANFR initiated an extensive selection and procurement process for high-end monitoring receivers with direction finding features.
After careful evaluation, the ANFR has decided to invest in Rohde & Schwarz’ recently launched R&S ESMW ultra wideband monitoring receivers, due to its reliability. These receivers, combined with R&S ADD597 direction finding antennas, will provide the ANFR with unparalleled capabilities to protect the upcoming major sports event against any unwanted incidents in the radio spectrum. The solutions provide the advanced capabilities needed for reliable measurements of current and upcoming wideband signals in high-density spectrum environments.
"We are thrilled to have been selected by the ANFR for this prestigious and world-renowned event," said Jens Steinwandt, Director Product Management Systems Spectrum Monitoring at Rohde & Schwarz. "Our R&S ESMW receivers, known for their exceptional performance and reliability, will ensure uninterrupted radio communications, allowing organizers, media, and security personnel to focus on delivering an unforgettable experience for sports enthusiasts."
