Munich, Germany 04/03/2025 – Rohde & Schwarz has announced the acquisition of its renowned Clipster mastering solution by CineCert, a leader in digital cinema.
Clipster is recognized as the gold standard for mastering in the media and entertainment sector and has a large global customer base with leading studios and post-production houses.
This strategic move reaffirms Rohde & Schwarz’ commitment to their customer base, as well as its new strategy to focus on software-based solutions in the broadcasting market with their leading products for channel origination/playout and multiviewing.
"For decades, Rohde & Schwarz has supported the media industry with innovative and high-quality technology to meet the demanding standards for professional content production," said Thorsten Sauer, Vice President Rohde & Schwarz Media Solutions. “As we transfer the product over to CineCert, we want to assure our customers that their needs remain top priority and the product has a bright future in the portfolio of an expert in the field like CineCert. Our focus is on innovation within the media broadcasting space."
The agreement ensures that the media production community will continue to benefit from the expertise of CineCert as it further develops the Clipster product. The dependable and professional support that Clipster users have come to rely on from Rohde & Schwarz will be taken over by CineCert.
“For more than 20 years, Clipster has set the standard for digital motion picture finishing. First from DVS and then Rohde & Schwarz, Clipster has remained the benchmark for quality cinema mastering and we are excited at the opportunity to make it even better,” said John Hurst, CTO of CineCert. “We will be on a dual track of new feature development and the continuation of a great tradition of reliable and timely professional support. In addition, the integration of CineCert’s existing products and code base with Clipster will provide users with streamlined workflows and enhanced opportunities in areas such as automation, asset management, and key distribution.”
