Lo standard televisivo terrestre DVB T2 sta diventando sempre più importante a causa della sempre maggior carenza di frequenze disponibili. I nuovi sistemi trasmissivi vengono attualmente sperimentati in molti Paesi di tutto il mondo. Altri Paesi hanno già completato la prima fase d'introduzione dello standard trasmissivo DVB T2. I trasmettitori televisivi devono rispettare requisiti particolarmente severi in termini di qualità del segnale trasmesso, considerato che anche i più piccoli difetti possono causare seri disturbi al servizio per parecchi utenti o disturbare il segnale trasmesso sui canali adiacenti.L’analizzatore TV R&S®ETL è uno strumento che da solo è in grado di eseguire tutte le misure necessarie sui trasmettitori DVB-T2, da quelle richieste durante il collaudo iniziale di accettazione per il trasmettitore, fino a quelle necessarie durante le attività di messa in servizio e manutenzione preventiva.Le misure qui descritte soddisfano molte specifiche di test particolari richieste nei vari Paesi e dai singoli clienti. Gli utenti devono solo impostare di conseguenza i valori limite.

Emitech, a company specializing in applied testing for product qualification in the automotive sector, has inaugurated its new vehicle test center in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France. The EMC chamber is equipped with a complete EMC test system from Rohde & Schwarz including R&S BBA150, R&S BBA130 and R&S BBL200 broadband amplifiers, R&S ESW44 test receivers, R&S SMB100B RF signal generators and power meters. At the inauguration ceremony in March, Rohde & Schwarz also demonstrated its innovative solution for advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) testing.

A dedicated interactivity test enables low latency measurements and the calculation of an interactivity score that indicates the network’s readiness for specific use cases (e.g. cloud gaming, online meetings, AR/VR etc.). The machine learning-assisted software suite SmartAnalytics offers new features to get automated insights.

In addition, the emergence of private 5G networks for manufacturing, warehouses, ports, etc. brings forth new stakeholders with more demanding performance and quality requirements. To further exploit the huge potential of 5G, the wireless industry has continued to develop the standard up to Release 16, and development continues. But technology does not stand still, and even as 5G presses forward, a new generation of cellular technology is emerging. Cutting-edge 6G research is already underway at communications equipment manufacturers and research institutions, and reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) is a major area of interest in 6G research. Rohde & Schwarz, with Tsinghua University and Actenna Technology, recently completed an evaluation and trial of RIS technology to comprehensively evaluate the effects and performance of RIS deployment.

The latest software update to the R&S PWC200 plane wave converter (PWC) increases measurement accuracy and refines usability thanks to a new calibration method. With these updates, Rohde & Schwarz extends the possible use cases of its innovative 5G massive MIMO base station testing solution in R&D, quality assurance and production as well as conformance testing. While the software will be preinstalled in new units, existing R&S PWC200 units can be upgraded.

This application note provides practical hints to accurately characterize and de-embed these lead-in and lead-out structures with R&S Vector Network Analyzers ZNA, ZNB, ZNBT and ZND.
