Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. is seeking a Technical Project Manager to provide strategic direction, coordination, and proactively drive engineering projects within our R&D organization. Top applicants will have a degree in Electrical Engineering, possess strong project management experience in entrepreneurial environments, a demonstrated ability to communicate and inspire across teams and functions, technical and entrepreneurial gravitas, and experience managing projects through the entire product lifecycle.
The preferred location for this is the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, but consideration may be given for exceptional candidates located elsewhere. US citizenship is required for this position.
Your tasks
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage R&D projects from inception to completion, overseeing planning, execution and delivery.
- Partner Management: Lead and manage external subcontractors and vendors, ensuring technical deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
- Lifecycle Management: Drive new product definition and development, from initial idea and research through design, testing, and market launch, ensuring seamless transitions between phases.
- Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, resources, and budgets, while monitoring progress and adjusting as necessary.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project milestones, challenges, and strategic direction to stakeholders at all levels to ensure transparency, alignment and executive support.
- Risk Mitigation: Conduct rigorous risk analysis to identify potential project bottlenecks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Compliance & IP: Ensure all R&D activities comply with internal processes, quality gates, and industry standards, while ensuring the proper documentation and protection of intellectual property.
- Performance Tracking: Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate project success and drive continuous improvement.
