Setting up marker beacon signals on the R&S®CMA180

Marker beacon signals indicate distance to the runway threshold and are part of the ILS system. On the R&S®CMA180, marker beacon signals are configured under Avionics in the list of available Analog modes. Access the Marker Beacon tab to begin. Frequency and level are set for the RF path, output via RF COM or RF OUT. External attenuation is available to compensate for the RF path. The marker type – outer, middle or inner – sets the corresponding audio frequency automatically using built-in presets. The frequency can also be set manually. The info field shows the active marker type using a color-coded indicator.
