Spectrum monitoring and direction finding in a compact format

The Serbian Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) has awarded Rohde & Schwarz a contract to improve and expand their RF spectrum monitoring system. RATEL plans to build a network of compact and remotely controlled measuring stations in cities and major towns across the country. In 2021, Rohde & Schwarz delivered their compact R&S EM200 spectrum monitoring receivers and direction finders and R&S ARGUS spectrum monitoring software alongside omnidirectional antennas and accessories.

Rohde & Schwarz supports missions with scalable intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems that can be integrated in various platforms. Exchangeable sensor subsystems are available and can be used in manual or automated EW. This year’s Special Operations Forces Innovation Network Seminar (SOFINS) will be held at the Camp de Souge military base in France’s Gironde Department from March 28 to 30, 2023 and Rohde & Schwarz will showcase their next generation EW system components.

The R&S®CS-MC20 microwave downconverter extends the frequency range of the R&S®EM200 and R&S®UMS400 receivers up to 20 GHz and is fully controlled by the receiver. In combination with the R&S®HF907OM omnidirectional monitoring antenna, a wide range of applications can be addressed.

The R&S®CS-MC53 microwave converter extends the frequency range of the R&S®EM200 digital compact receiver and the R&S®UMS400 universal monitoring system (both combined with the R&S®CS-MC20 microwave converter) as well as the R&S®ESMW ultra wideband monitoring receiver from 17 GHz to 53 GHz and supports up to 500 MHz real-time bandwidth. Thanks to its ultracompact and lightweight weatherproof housing, it can be installed next to the antenna to keep cable losses at a minimum for highest sensitivity.
