Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity expands SITLine network encryptor portfolio – more bandwidth, higher port density, future-proof architecture

Berlin, 10th of March 2026, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity is expanding its portfolio of SITLine ETH-XL network encryptors in response to increasing bandwidth requirements and the need for flexible and consolidated network architectures in security-critical environments. The solution is available now.

The SITLine ETH-XL is based on a modular hardware architecture and supports bandwidths of up to 100 Gbit/s. With 8 lines, the SITLine ETH-XL 8x10G in a single unit with one height unit enables significantly higher port density while reducing rack space requirements. This allows powerful high-speed connections to be implemented efficiently and future-proof.

The SITLine product family implements encryption at the Layer 2 protocol level, offering low latency for the implementation of fully meshed networks.

Flexible bandwidths for different network requirements

The new expansion stage allows flexible port configuration and can be tailored to different network requirements as needed. The new 8 × 10 Gbit/s and 4 × 10 Gbit/s configurations complement the 2 × 100 Gbit/s device. This makes the solution suitable for data centres and backbone connections as well as for regional distribution locations.

Organisations with a high density of locations and increased security awareness benefit from the ability to map different bandwidths within a single platform and efficiently consolidate their network infrastructure.

Another feature of the new expansion stage is support for link aggregation scenarios (LAG). This allows multiple ports to be bundled on the SITLine ETH-XL side to implement a LAG scenario.

Transparency and operational reliability

For ongoing operation, the SITLine ETH-XL has an integrated display that shows relevant status and operating information directly on the device. This simplifies administration and maintenance and provides additional transparency in data centre operations.

Future-proof thanks to modern cryptography

The SITLine product family is approved by the BSI for VS-NfD, EU & NATO RESTRICTED. The new variant is post-quantum cryptography (PQC) ready and prepared for the use of quantum key distribution (QKD).
