Your tasks

  • With your affinity for complex systems you will drive the new space based solutions, working closely with colleagues, that are experts in their fields, and external organizations
  • You master system-level RF architecture & design principles and contribute to the definition of end-to-end RF system architecture and requirements, ensuring compatibility with mission constraints and performance goals
  • You perform end-to-end performance analysis, eg. perform RF link budget analysis and system-level trade-offs to evaluate performance under various mission scenarios
  • You support requirements definition flow-down from mission-level needs to RF subsystem specifications
  • You manage internal and external expectations, participate in customer meetings, as well as prepare and maintain realistic customer requirement challenges
  • You support EMI/EMC challenges, identifying and mitigate potential EMI/EMC issues through design reviews and validation testing
  • You support RF test campaigns with AIT teams, not limited to test planning, documentation, and reporting of verification results.
  • You utilize modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, CST, ADS) to validate designs and predict system performance
  • You act as a technical interface between RF, software, mechanical, system, Ground and AIT teams to ensure smooth integration and alignment with program objectives
  • You perform lead trade studies to support make-or-buy decisions, cost-risk-schedule assessments and design trade-offs.
  • You coordinate and manage internal teams and external technical partners, including requirements and interface definition, technical budgets, CONOPS development and supplier integration.
  • You prepare, organize and lead system documentation and reviews (requirements flow-down, SRR/PDR/CDR or equivalent), ensuring configuration control and traceability
  • You contribute your system engineering experience and lay the foundation for successful contracts during the proposal phase

Your qualifications

  • Technical degree in science or engineering (or equivalent) with focus on e.g. communications technology, computer science, systems engineering or a comparable domain. A degree in aerospace engineering is considered a plus.
  • Professional experience in managing complex projects in the system solution business and extensive knowledge of customer requirements for complex systems
  • System engineering experience as well as strong communication skills help you to manage diverse stakeholders and communicate in line with your peers
  • Ability to make decisions confidently in critical situations, to communicate and to act in a problem-solving manner
  • Demonstrated experience in RF (space) systems integration, debugging and performance analysis. Having affinity with the new space industry and/or scientific ESA type space programs is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience in RF sub-systems integration/engineering or a closely related field
  • knowledge of (space based) radiofrequency communications (transmitter, receivers, antenna, satellite communications, mobile phone communications) and satellite platforms
  • Proven track record in requirements engineering and management, including requirements flow-down and traceability (experience with tools such as Jama is a plus).
  • Solid understanding of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and related modeling practices (experience with SysML/Cameo is advantageous)
  • Demonstrated autonomy in leading RF systems and SW integration
  • Excellent communication, presentation and technical writing skills enables you to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Can-do mentality and are willingness to travel internationally within intercultural and interdisciplinary environments
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English
