How can I create a log file of the NI VISA traffic?

Some parts of my program cause timeouts. Is it possible to track the traffic via my VISA installation? It would help me a lot to see the complete command flow including timing information.

Simply use NI IO Trace which can be found in the National Instruments Folder under START. Then open Tools/Options and change your settings as follows:

To start recording, just click on the green (arrow) button. Then start your test sending commands to the device. After the recording is done, use the red button to stop it and then just save the file. For support purposes it would help a lot when the recording is only done during the critical phase of your program.
