At the recent O-RAN ALLIANCE Global PlugFest Fall 2023 at the Japan Open Testing and Integration Center (OTIC) hosted by Rakuten Mobile, Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI Solutions have presented their integrated solution for automated conformance testing of O-RAN Radio Units (O-RUs). In a recent demonstration, IEMN reached a milestone when researchers achieved generated a 300 GHz bidirectional link over an outdoor distance of 645 m for use in future 6G backhauling scenarios. Rohde & Schwarz and MediaTek have teamed up to demonstrate a 5G non-terrestrial network (NTN) new radio (NR) connection based on the latest 3GPP Release 17 specifications.
