SVP Research and Technology Innovation, Deutsche Telekom

Dr. Alex Jinsung Choi is Senior Vice President of Strategy and Technology Innovation (STI) of Deutsche Telekom. Through the Network Differentiation strategy, he is responsible for transforming Deutsche Telekom’s infrastructure to an open, distributed and cloud-native architecture with an automated production model.

As Chief Operating Officer of the O-RAN Alliance, Dr. Choi has more than 20 years of experience in the mobile telecommunication industry and consumer electronics. He has been thought leader, driving forward key strategic and research topics in Telco and AI. Dr. Choi was the first Chairman of the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) and previously served as CTO for SK Telekom.

Gerardo Giaretta

Senior Director Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

Gerardo Giaretta currently serves as a senior director of product management at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. where he manages the 5G RAN infrastructure products portfolio. Gerardo holds nearly 20 years of experience in the wireless communications industry including 14-plus years with Qualcomm.

Since joining in 2007, he has held a variety of roles in research, system design, standardization, and product management. Gerardo holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Padua in Italy. Additionally, he has been granted 55 U.S. patents.

Dr. Marcus Dormanns

Business Development Manager, Comprion GmbH

As Business Development Manager at COMPRION, Dr. Marcus Dormanns is responsible for driving new products, defining new commercial models and partnerships and for addressing new market segments in the area of eSIM / Remote SIM Provisioning testing services. Prior to joining COMPRION in 2020, Marcus spent 8 years with GSMA as Senior Director Platforms & Operations.

Prior to this, he was 12 years with Deutsche Telekom, working in technology and strategy consulting, technology strategy, business development and product management. Marcus holds a degree in computer science from University of Karlsruhe (TH), a doctorate degree from Aachen University of Technology and is a member of IEEE, GI and VDE.

Thomas Barnett

Head of Portfolio Evolution in MN S&T Portfolio Management, Nokia

Thomas Barnett is head of portfolio evolution at Nokia. He has gained over 25 years of experience in the telecommuncation business.

He has a proven track record in system integration, techincal sales, product line management, product portfolio as well as business management functions in leading positions for 4G, 5G and recently also in cloud RAN and O-RAN.

Vicky Messer

Director Product Management, Picocom

Vicky Messer is Director Product Management at Picocom. She has 25 years of experience primarily in the wireless industry, is an IET Chartered Engineer and mentor. Vicky began her career as an RF engineer developing 2G base stations at Motorola. She moved into RF optimisation at Alcatel Lucent and then to product marketing of 3G small cells at Picochip.

After defining 4G products at NVIDIA, Vicky joined Picocom in 2019 to drive product specifications and collateral for Picocom’s 5G small cell SoCs. Vicky is a key participating member to the Small Cell Forum (SCF). She has delivered two work items, and in recognition of these and her other contributions, she won 2020’s ‘Outstanding Individual Contribution to SCF award’. Vicky recently co-lead a published Split 6 (nFAPI) test support paper and is a principal contributor to the sub6 small cell reference design work items.

Jukka Sjöstedt

CEO, Radientum

Jukka Sjöstedt is CEO at Radientum with over 20 years' experience in the telecom industry. He has mainly worked with wireless devices, starting as a RF SOC verification engineer, and was leading for 7 years a hardware development team at Nokia and Microsoft. In the current role he is working with wearable, medical and IoT products. His strong hardware system experience helps to supervise Radientum research and customer projects on 5G FR1 and FR2.

Dr.-Ing. Hans Wilhelm Gierlich

Managing Director Telecom, HEAD acoustics GmbH

Dr. Hans W. Gierlich is the head of the HEAD acoustics Telecom Division and is responsible for research, development, sales and services in this area. Hans W. Gierlich is an active member of various standardization bodies – including ITU-T, 3GPP, GCF, IEEE, TIA, CTIA, DKE and VDA. He is ETSI Fellow and served as the chairman of the ETSI Technical Committee for “Speech and Multimedia Transmission Quality”. He joined the company in 1989 as vice president and built up the telecom division. 2014 he was appointed as management director.

George Tsirtsis

Senior Director Technology, Qualcomm Technologies International, Ltd.

Since 2017, George Tsirtsis has served as a senior director of technology at Qualcomm Technologies International, Ltd. where he has been responsible for the company’s 5G activities in Europe. George has been instrumental in bringing together the ecosystem of MNOs, Infra-vendors, and smartphone device manufacturers for the 5G launches in Europe. While 5G launches continue across the region, he is now working to help Europe realize the full benefit of 5G by transitioning to Stand Alone mode,
