Signal analysis: quick results

See small signal details in the presence of large signals

The R&S®RTA4000 features a customized Rohde & Schwarz designed 10-bit A/D converter that delivers a four-fold improvement over conventional 8-bit A/D converters. The increased resolution results in sharper waveforms with more signal details that would otherwise be missed. One example is the characterization of switched-mode power supplies. The voltages across the switching device must be determined during the on/off times within the same acquisition.

Segmented memory

100 Msample standard and 200 Msample interleaved

The R&S®RTA4000 offers a class-leading memory depth: 100 Msample per channel are available, even 200 Msample in interleaved mode. This is ten times more than similar oscilloscopes in the same instrument class. The user captures longer acquisition sequences even at high sampling rates for more analysis results, e.g. when analyzing transients of switched-mode power supplies.

Segmented memory: 1000 Msample with history function

The R&S®RTA-K15 option with deep, segmented memory analyzes signal sequences over a long observation period. Protocol-based signals with communications gaps such as I²C or SPI can be captured over several seconds or minutes. Thanks to the variable segment size, the 1000 Msample memory is optimally utilized. In history mode, previous acquisitions to the maximum segmented memory depth of 1000 Msample are available for further analysis.

Logic analysis with the MSO option

16 additional digital channels

The R&S®RTA-B1 option turns every R&S®RTA4000 into an intuitive-to-use MSO with 16 additional digital channels. The oscilloscope captures and analyzes signals from analog and digital components of an embedded design – synchronously and time correlated to each other. For example, the delay between input and output of an A/D converter can conveniently be determined using the cursor measurements.

Waveform and pattern generator

Generate analog and digital stimuli

The R&S®RTA-B6 waveform and pattern generator up to 50 Mbit/s is useful for educational purposes and for implementing prototype hardware. Apart from the common sine, square/pulse, ramp and noise waveforms, it outputs arbitrary waveforms and 4-bit signal patterns. Waveforms and patterns can be imported as CSV files or copied from oscilloscope waveforms. Predefined patterns for e.g. I2C, SPI, UART and CAN/LIN can be used.

Waveform and pattern generator

In addition to common sine, square/pulse, ramp and noise waveforms, it outputs user-defined waveforms and 4-bit signal patterns.

Digital voltmeter

Measure and display electrical potential

The R&S®RTA4000 features a 3-digit voltmeter (DVM) and 6-digit frequency counter on each channel for simultaneous measurements. Measurement functions include DC, AC+DC (RMS) and AC (RMS) – included as standard.

Digital voltmeter

The 3-digit voltmeter measures and displays the electrical potential difference between two points in an electric circuit.

Frequency analysis mode

Difficult-to-find faults often result from the interaction between time and frequency signals. The FFT function of the R&S®RTA4000 is activated at the push of a button and by simpling entering the center frequency and span. Thanks to the R&S®RTA4000 oscilloscopes’ high-performance FFT functionality, signals can be analyzed with up to 128k points. Other practical tools include cursor measurements and autoset in frequency domain.

Mask test mode

Mask tests quickly reveal whether a specific signal lies within defined tolerance limits. Masks assess the quality and stability of a DUT based on statistical pass/fail evaluation. Signal anomalies and unexpected results are quickly identified. When the mask is violated, the measurement stops. Each violation can generate a pulse output at the AUX-OUT connector on the R&S®RTA4000. This pulse output can be used to trigger actions in the measurement setup.

The best choice for power

See power signal details with up to 10-bit resolution

Even the smallest signal details of a high dynamic signal matter for power measurements. Verification of RDS(on) of a MOSFET is one example. The high ADC resolution of the R&S®RTA4000 oscilloscopes increases the vertical resolution up to 10 bit. Previously unseen signal details become visible and measurable. In the example of RDS(on), it makes it possible to measure the slope of the drain-to-source-voltage while the switch is closed.

6. O sorteio ocorrerá na sede da R&S, em Munique, à Muehldorstrasse 15, 81671. O ganhador dos prêmios será avisado por e-mail no prazo de cinco (5) dias úteis.

7. O representante autorizado da pessoa jurídica informará à R&S sobre a aceitação do preço. Caso a aceitação seja negada ou se não houver resposta em até duas (2) semanas, um novo ganhador será sorteado. Se não for possível definir um ganhador no prazo de quatro (4) semanas, o sorteio se encerrará e o prêmio prescreverá.

8. Aos funcionários da R&S e seus familiares, bem como às pessoas familiarizadas com o processo do sorteio e seus familiares, é vetado o preenchimento da ficha de participação.

9. Não são permitidos equivalente em dinheiro ou troca de prêmios. Os prêmios são intransferíveis. Todos os impostos, tributos, encargos, taxas e outras cobranças tributáveis no país do participante serão arcadas pelo participante.

10. Dados pessoais somente serão processados para os fins deste sorteio e excluídos quatro (4) semanas após o sorteio, se não acordado de outro modo.

11. O participante que não cumprir os presentes Termos e Condições estará sujeito à desclassificação pela R&S da participação neste concurso. Neste caso, os prêmios também poderão ser retirados retroativamente. Se um prêmio estiver sujeito à retirada retrospectiva por motivo de incumprimento dos presentes Termos e Condições, ele deverá ser devolvido pelo respectivo participante, às suas expensas, para o endereço da R&S mencionado na disposição N.1, e um novo ganhador será sorteado.

12. Os participantes não podem reivindicar os prêmios do sorteio e não são autorizados recursos legais neste sentido.

13. O sorteio e a relação contratual decorrente, entre a R&S e o respectivo participante, serão regidos e interpretados de acordo com as leis da Alemanha, sem dar efeito ao princípio do conflito de leis. Os tribunais de Munique, Alemanha, gozarão de jurisdição exclusiva em caso de disputa decorrente, direta ou indiretamente, da participação neste concurso.
