The basic equipment consists of:
- Up to three controller positions fitted with control and indicating instruments
- VHF or VHF/UHF communication sets in the frequency ranges 100 MHz to 512 MHz (100 MHz to 163 MHz (225 MHz to 400 MHz))
- VHF/UHF guard receiver for the international distress frequencies 121.5 MHz/243.0 MHz (integrated in R&S®Series400U, R&S®M3SR or detached R&S®Series200 receiver)
- HF communication set R&S®XK2000 in the frequency range 1.5 MHz to 30 MHz, voice and data
- Digital multichannel voice recorder for all radio transmission and intercom conversations
- Voice communication system
- Telephone equipment
- One set of meteorological sensors and indicators
- Accurate position and time through GPS
- Complete accessory package (signal projector, fire extinguisher, binoculars, obstruction lights, crash alarm etc)
- Split air-conditioning system
- Filing cabinets for supplies and equipment
- DC power supply system with backup batteries for emergency operation
System Layout
A special lifting mechanism on the twoaxle trailer is designed to lift the cabin to the operational height of 6.5 m above ground (working position).
The detachable ATC cabin complies with the international standard ISO 20-feet container dimensions, which allows problem-free transport by ship, truck, aircraft, helicopter or trailer.
The power supply of the complete mobile ATC tower can be either by landline or diesel generator. The proposed generator is designed to operate on standby, i.e. the generator will be started automatically when the local power supply fails.
The mobile ATC tower has a modular system design. The final system design will be tailored to the needs of the customers.
