ローデ・シュワルツの新しいR&S RTSレーダー・テストシステムは、先進運転支援システム（ADAS）の基盤となるレーダーや自動運転車に利用するレーダーセンサについて、完全なOTA（over the air）でテストできる運転シナリオをシミュレートします。このテストソリューションは、新しいR&S AREG800A車載レーダーエコー発生器をバックエンドとし、R&S QAT100アンテナアレイをフロントエンドとして構成されています。現在、側面から近づく物体などの横移動する物体は、アンテナを物理的に移動させてシミュレートしています。これに対し、R&S RTSではフロントエンドにおける個々のアンテナのON/OFを電子的に切り替えることで、そうした物理的運動を置き換えます。自動車に対して横方向に高速に動く物体でも、高い信頼性と再現性でシミュレートできます。またR&S RTSなら、物体の視線速度（ドップラー効果）やサイズ（レーザー反射断面積）について、非常に狭い場合を含め、ユーザーが想定する範囲でシミュレート可能です。さらに、バックエンドのR&S AREG800Aを複数台カスケード接続することで多数の物体も再現できます。現在は実際の路上で行われているテストが、R&S RTSを使えば研究室で行えるため、早い段階からエラーを検出でき、大きなコスト削減になります。
