Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz USA is seeking a Service Order Management Supervisor specifically for US Government contracts. The Service Order Management Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of the service order management team supporting government contracts and public sector customers. This position leads the full lifecycle of service orders, ensuring operational excellence, contract compliance, timely execution, and exceptional customer support in alignment with federal procurement regulations and business objectives. The supervisor is expected to drive accountability, mentor team members, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. This is a full-time position requiring on-site attendance in our Columbia, Maryland headquarters.

Your tasks

  • Supervise daily service order management activities for government and public sector contracts.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of service order coordinators and specialists.
  • Ensure all service orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual requirements and internal procedures.
  • Monitor service-level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and contractual deliverables.
  • Review and validate order documentation, pricing, funding approvals, modifications, and billing readiness.
  • Coordinate with contracts, finance, logistics, procurement, and program management teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Maintain compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency-specific requirements, and company policies.
  • Support audits, reporting requirements, and documentation retention standards.
  • Analyze workflow trends and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage escalations related to order fulfillment, delivery schedules, invoicing discrepancies, and contract interpretation.
  • Assist in resource planning, workload balancing, and staffing recommendations.
  • Prepare operational reports and present status updates to leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Ensure subcontractor and vendor activities align with contract terms and service expectations.
  • Support onboarding and training of new employees on government contract procedures and systems.

Your qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Operations, or Equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in service order management, logistics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Working knowledge of Commercial Asset Visibility (CAV), Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) systems and processes, including government asset tracking, DoD procurement and invoicing activities, contract compliance, and supplier oversight requirements.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP or CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce) is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally

The total compensation for this position is $66K-$87K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
