Zero span signal analysis on the R&S®CMA180

Zero span mode shows measured power as a function of time. It is primarily used for time-varying signals such as bursted or slotted transmissions. Select Spectrum under the Analog tab to start the application. Set the center frequency, sweep time and expected power, along with resolution bandwidth to match the measured signal. Zero span measurements typically require a trigger, most commonly a video trigger that starts the sweep when the signal crosses a defined threshold. The waveform is displayed after the trigger occurs, with the axes scaled automatically or manually as needed. Markers can be placed on the trace to read precise values, either manually or using search functions. Results are shown in a table below the display.
