Miguel A. Román is our expert on big data and machine learning. He has spent his entire professional career developing software and is now working on his PhD in machine learning (ML) at the University of Alicante, Spain. When Miguel first recognized the potential of ML in tasks that any standard programming framework could not achieve, he felt as if he knew nothing about computing.
